Rochester Special Town Meeting

ARTICLE 1: ROCHESTER MEMORIAL SCHOOL RENOVATION/ADDITION

To see if the Town will vote to appropriate, borrow or transfer from available funds, a sum of money to be expended under the direction of the School Building Committee for renovations and addition to Rochester Memorial School, 16 Pine Street, Rochester, MA, which the school facility shall have an anticipated useful life as an education facility for the instruction of school children of at least 50 years, and for which the Town may be eligible for a school construction grant from the Massachusetts School Building Authority ("MSBA"). The MSBA's grant program is a non-entitlement, discretionary program based on need, as determined by the MSBA, and any project costs the Town incurs in excess of any grant approved by and received from the MSBA shall be the sole responsibility of the Town. Any grant that the Town of Rochester may receive from MSBA for the Project shall not exceed the lesser of (1) 57.94 percent (%) of eligible, approved project costs, as determined by the MSBA, or (2) the total maximum grant amount determined by the MSBA.

ARTICLE 2: PARCEL OF LAND TO BE REZONED

To see if the Town will amend the Zoning Map to rezone the following parcels of land from its current zoning to General Commercial. Map 17 Lot 41B in its entirety and that portion of Map 17 Lot 41C that is currently zoned Industrial or Residential. The above described parcel contains an area of 26.26 acres, more or less, and is more particularly shown as "Parcel to be Rezoned" on plan entitled "Exhibit Plan", dated September 3, 2009, scale 1"=100' prepared by Allen and Major Associates, inc.
