Frederic A. Dube, age 77, of Fairhaven, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014 in St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Marilyn C. (Gallagher) Dube to whom he had been married for 56 years.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Frederick S. and Lorenza J. (Forgue) Dube, he was a lifelong resident of Fairhaven and a graduate of New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School.
Mr. Dube was employed as an Electrician for over 40 years with the IBEW Local 224 until his retirement in 1998. He was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church in Mattapoisett, he was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus Damien Council 4190 in Mattapoisett where he was the Bake Master for many years. Fred will be remembered for his good sense of humor, for his love of animals and the time he cherished with family and friends.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his three children, Suzan Oliveira and her husband Tom of Dartmouth, Michael A. Dube and his girlfriend Doreen Smith of Acushnet and Jeriann G. Jeffries and her husband Bill of Bartlett, TN; a cousin Irene Harding and her husband Philip of Fairhaven; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several step-grand and step great-grandchildren and three nephews. He was also the brother of the late Lorraine Gobster.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 1014 at 8:30AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn 180 Washington St., Fairhaven, followed by his funeral mass at 10AM in St. Anthony Church 22 Barstow St., Mattapoisett. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4PM & 7 to 9PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the National Kidney Foundation 85 Astor Ave., #2, Norwood, MA 02062 or to the American Heart Association 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
