Christopher Jaskolka, 65, of Mattapoisett died August 29, 2022 at Beth Israel Hospital, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was the husband of Cheryl A. McGuire.
Born and raised in New Bedford, son of the late Sandra J. (Linhares) Nichols and Raymond Jaskolka, he lived in Mattapoisett most of his life.
He was a graduate of New Bedford High School, class of 1975 and Massachusetts Maritime Academy, class of 1979.
He was licensed as a second engineer in the Merchant Marines for 10 years where he traveled the globe. He later founded Mattapoisett Housewrights with his wife. He enjoyed building custom homes for over 35 years, including his own timber frame home for his family.

He always had a strong interest in the Mattapoisett community. He was a former member of the Lions Club, Fin, Fur, & Feather Club, Chairman of the Planning Board, and a Water & Sewer Commissioner. An avid hockey player and Bruins fan, he enjoyed sharing the game with his children and celebrating several competitive adult hockey tournament wins with his friends. His greatest pride was his two beloved children.
In his later years, he enjoyed the company of his treasured dog and best companion, Josie.
