Driver Cited in Pedestrian Accident

On Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 5:23 pm, the Marion Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on Spring Street near Tabor Academy.

Two pedestrians had been struck by a motor vehicle and were transported to Tobey Hospital in Wareham with non-life threatening injuries. The operator of the vehicle was at the scene and was uninjured. The two female pedestrians, both age 14, are boarding students at Tabor Academy.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2006 Honda Pilot was travelling south on Spring Street and struck the two pedestrians, who were in the crosswalk. There is no indication of speed, impaired, or distracted driving. Rain was steady at the time of the crash. The operator, David Titus, 71, of Marion was cited for failure to yield at a crosswalk.

The accident was investigated by Sgt. Jeffrey Tripp and Officer Robert Krytofolski.
