It has been over a year and a half since the Rochester Women’s Club has had a meeting with its members. The board has continued to meet during this time, and we have tackled many issues, including repairs on our building, donating to many local non-profit groups in Rochester, and helping to support our own Trent Crook with his Eagle Scout project. We continued with our Earth Day celebration in cooperation with the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Creative Little Leaders, the Plumb Library, and many Rochester residents formed their own neighborhood clean-up groups. We also continued with our scholarships to Rochester high school graduating students, thanks to our devoted committee members.
The Rochester Women’s Club founding members signed its charter on May 17, 1932 and has been a civic non-profit organization ever since. It is with great enthusiasm that our board has decided to regroup and pick up where we left off. Our clubhouse needs much work. We will be making and selling our Christmas wreaths hoping to monthly decorate the building, continue our scholarships, and spend time outside the club as a group. In the past, we have enjoyed dining out, going to the theater, train rides to Boston, Christmas caroling, and much more.
The next meeting of our club will be held on Wednesday November 3, at 7:00 pm. This will be a meet and greet. This women’s club is open to all women and our meetings are informal. You need not reside in Rochester to attend or join. Our yearly dues are only $20.
