Buzzards Bay Area Habitat for Humanity announces that applications are available now for two 3-bedroom Habitat for Humanity duplex-style homes for purchase on Sodom Road, Westport, MA. The application deadline is December 23, 2021.
Applicant households must be income eligible (families must fall into the following guidelines: 30% to 60% of the area median income as adjusted by household size.
Two-person household – $20,800 to $41,520; three-person household – $23,400 to $46,740; four-person household – $25,950 to $51,900; five-person household – $28,050 to $56,100; and six-person household – $30,150 to $60,240.
Applicants must live or work in our service area (Acushnet, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Marion, Mattapoisett, New Bedford, Rochester, Wareham, and Westport), have a critical need for a decent affordable home, be “willing to partner” with Habitat in the construction of their home (i.e., work side-by-side for minimum of 300 sweat equity hours with the construction volunteers or serve the affiliate in other ways), and have the ability to make a monthly mortgage payment estimated to be between $950 to $1,150, which includes escrow for taxes and homeowner’s insurance. There would be an additional estimated condo fee of $120.
