The Mattapoisett Land Trust’s annual tradition continues with help from the folks at Brownell Systems and their trusty crane. Tour de Crème250 viewsThis year’s 4th annual Tour de Crème raised $12,000 for outdoor recreation in Mattapoisett! There were 350 riders consuming over 1,200 scoops of ice cream all for a good cause. Mattapoisett Memorial Day 250 viewsIt was a great turnout for the Mattapoisett Memorial Day observance on Monday afternoon, which began at Center School and then proceeded to the library for the placement of flowers on the monuments before parading over to Town Wharf to place a wreath in the outgoing tide to honor those lost at sea. Mattapoisett Fire Department Association Chowder Competition 250 viewsOn September 8, the 5th annual Mattapoisett Fire Department Association Chowder Competition featured a variety of flavorful chowders from restaurants and public safety facilities from Fairhaven, Rochester, and Mattapoisett. Family Fun Festival 250 viewsFamilies came out in record numbers to enjoy the 4th Annual Fall Free Family Fun Festival sponsored by the Mattapoisett’s Lion Club on October 19 held at Shipyard Park. Bruce Rocha of the club estimated attendance at over 400. Kids and adults alike enjoyed free face painting, bowling with pumpkins, a corn hole toss, snacks, hayrides to Ned’s Point and, yes, free pumpkins to take home.
