Presto Press339 viewsA partnership between the Mattapoisett Historical Society and the public library allowed the sale of duplicate issues of the Presto Press, which was printed from the 1950s until the early 1990s. People poured over the stacks seeking a specific issue or year to take home for their personal archives. Octopurrfest339 viewsThe Rochester cat shelter “It’s All About the Animals” held its 2nd Annual Octopurrfest on Sunday, October 2. Raising over $7,000, owner/operator Pam Robinson said this year’s event was “absolutely over the top!” The shelter is in the process of building an addition to create a cat room and a porch. “I cannot thank everyone enough for their wonderful donation and participation,” said Robinson. Tabor Academy Polar Plunge339 viewsTabor Academy hosted its second annual Polar Plunge on Sunday, January 21 at Silvershell Beach to raise money for the school’s Special Olympics Young Athletes Program. Students from ‘fundraising rival’ Sandwich High also showed up, with scores of students and staff making a dash in and quickly out of the chilly waters. The plunge raised about $8,000.
