Sunfish Racks258 viewsA huge thanks to Patrick Kiernan and Mattapoisett Boy Scout Troop 53 for their excellent construction of two Sunfish racks for the Angelica Yacht Club’s junior sailing program. Troop Leader Dennis McLaughlin and several other troop parents oversaw the installation, which was Patrick’s Eagle Scout project. The Sunfish racks will hold a total of four Sunfish and their gear. 108th Annual Rochester Grange Fair 258 viewsThe 108th Annual Rochester Grange Fair was held on August 18 with a wide variety of produce, floral bouquets, baked goods, handicrafts, and works of art. The state first place winner for her diorama depicting a barn that contained fresh eggs and produce was Susan Guiducci of Dartmouth. There were a total of 35 entries vying for other blue ribbons in many other categories. Sue LaFluer, grange secretary and one of the fair organizers said that participants ranged in age from 6 years of age and beyond.

National Honor Society258 viewsA group of students paid tribute to Sister Teresa Trayers, SND, who will be inducted to the Bishop Stang High School Hall of Honors at an event on Sunday, October 21. The school's National Honor Society is named in Honor of Sister Teresa, and members honored her by holding their annual “Rock-a-thon,” rocking in rocking chairs for donations and receiving food donations throughout the day on Saturday, September 22.

Santa’s boat docked at the Marion Wharf where the faces of hundreds of children lit up at his arrival. Santa boarded a horse-drawn carriage and paraded through the streets, passing businesses offering free goodies and dodging the whereabouts of that old Grinch who didn’t seem to mind Christmas coming at all this year.
