New Year Plunge364 viewsOn January 1, 2013, Mattapoisett Town Beach played host to a New Year’s polar plunge fundraiser. The event, which attracted over 400 people, raised money to benefit BAM Foundation, Inc., a New Bedford non-profit which donates money to South Coast families dealing with members who have cancer. ORR Basketball364 viewsThe ORR Lady Bulldogs Varsity Basketball team dominated Dighton-Rehoboth 50-24 Thursday night in front of a home crowd in the ORR gymnasium. The girls went on a 16-2 run in the first quarter and never gave up their lead. The team improves to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the South Coast Conference. Fireworks Fundraiser364 viewsMaggie Fearons, Katie Nilson, Natalie Nilson and Georgia Toland work to raise money for the Marion Fireworks. Fundraising efforts have already yielded over $38,000 towards the effort. The exact figure needed is not known until the bids are opened and the costs of services such as police and fire details are quantified.
