Mattapoisett YMCA315 viewsOn Sunday, October 20, the Mattapoisett YMCA hosted its first annual Harbor Brew Fest. Participants enjoyed this sunny day of local brew tastings, live music by Sean Carney, and fresh scallops, while overlooking beautiful Mattapoisett Harbor. A bonfire on the beach accompanied by a smores bar added to the fun. All proceeds from the event will go towards the Mattapoisett YMCA’s Annual Campaign that helps deserving children attend summer camp, preschool and afterschool care.

The show was a creative, educational collaboration between grade 4 teachers, music teachers Sue Audette and Chris Williamson, and art teacher Joanne Smith. Robert Hiller Homecoming315 viewsRobert Hiller III finally returned on March 3 to his Eastover Farms-area home to a grand welcome of family and friends after a bout with the EEE virus that put the Rochester resident in a coma for 19 days and held him in hospital care for seven months. Car Show Dreams314 views108 cars attended the A Wish Come True car show on October 11, 2009 at Rochesters Plumb Corner. Each vehicle owner paid to attend the show, and the proceeds went to the organization, which works to grant wishes to children ages 3-18 who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening condition.
