Plymouth Sands Trail Riders 317 viewsOn Sunday, October 28, the Plymouth Sands Trail Riders bike club held a hare scramble at the Mattapoisett landfill. The club, which boasts over 300 members from all around New England, had over 100 riders participate in the event. Riders from teens up to seniors took off for the 40 minute races around the 2.5 mile wooded track. 3rd Annual Bulldog Dash317 viewsAlmost 200 runners and walkers braved the autumn wind chill to turn out for the third annual ORR Bulldog Dash on Saturday, November 24. The dash was held to raise funds for the purchase of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for the athletic department as well as to purchase equipment for the Cross Country teams. The 2014 Hall of Fame banquet and induction ceremonies will be held at ORRHS on Saturday, June 21 at 5:00 pm, and the annual ORRAHOF golf tournament will take place the following day, Sunday, June 22 at the Back Nine Golf Club in Lakeville. Mattapoisett Firefighter’s Association317 viewsThe Mattapoisett Firefighter’s Association hosted a chowder competition on September 13 on the Mattapoisett Knights of Columbus grounds. Between 300 and 400 guests came to sample the chowder of 16 different teams, split into two categories: public safety and professional.
