Rochester turned 340 283 viewsHey, hey, it’s your birthday, Rochester! Rochester turned 340 years old on June 4, and the third grade class from RMS was invited to celebrate with some cake and ice cream at the senior center on Tuesday. Students started the day with a tour around historic Rochester before breaking for lunch and sharing a large birthday cake with seniors. The MWC is grateful for the donations from the Lion's Club, Mahoney's, and the Mattapoisett Highway Department for preparing the various places for planting. Robert Hiller Homecoming283 viewsRobert Hiller III finally returned on March 3 to his Eastover Farms-area home to a grand welcome of family and friends after a bout with the EEE virus that put the Rochester resident in a coma for 19 days and held him in hospital care for seven months. The public was welcome to tour the facilities, and children enjoyed exploring all the engines available at the station.
