Marion Boy Scouts359 viewsTroop 32 Marion Boy Scouts and their parents went on a ski trip on February 22, 2015 to Ragged Mountain. Some of what Boy Scouts is about is exposure to new things, so Ragged Mountain was a good choice as a beginner’s mountain. Two of the Scouts and two of the parents (and even a Scout sibling) started the day with a beginner’s lesson, Chris Horton on a snowboard.

Waste Water Treatment359 viewsIn the aeration basins, water is bubbled and oxygenated, and bacteria are introduced into the mix to break down remaining suspended solids until it’s 90% clear. The water is disinfected with UV light before being discharged to an outfall point at the intersection of Main and Church Streets in Fairhaven into New Bedford Harbor. (Hopefully that lifesaver has never been needed.)

Marion Town Party359 viewsChalk up another successful Marion Town Party as several hundred party-goers found good food and fun on the grounds of the Town House on 8/25. Children of all ages enjoyed inflatable games, climbing the rock wall, or jumping around to music. The annual party has its roots deep in the community and may have started as early at 1900. This year’s event featured live entertainment, a scavenger hunt, and lots of good food.
