The ceremony began with a service at the Veteran’s monument in front of the library, and then a parade assembled and marched to the town wharf and to Cushing Cemetery. Relay for Life394 viewsOver 200 Tri-Town residents gathered to help raise money for the American Cancer Society by participating in the fifth annual Relay for Life. The Relay started at 5:00 pm on Friday June 11 and continued until 12:00 pm on Saturday. Participants walked the track at ORR throughout the night and into the next afternoon as a way to honor cancer survivors and those who lost their battle to cancer. Personalized luminaria bags lined the track, lighting the way for the participants throughout the night.

Artists Summer Gallery 394 viewsThe Mattapoisett-area Artists Summer Gallery Exhibit will take place on weekends from July 3 to Labor Day. The exhibit will feature paintings, sculptures, photography and scrimshaw by well-known area artists, including sculptures by David Englund and oil paintings by Christine Bertram. Harbor Days Craze394 viewsThe town gazebo was the scene of another sultry Harbor Days this past weekend. Rows of vendors peddled their fun wares while visitors of all ages enjoyed music, conversation and the best strawberry shortcake in the world. The festivities started in earnest on Friday night with chowder and seafood rolls, and continued until Sunday. Only 51 more weeks until Harbor Days 2011! Photos by Felix Perez.
