Double Eagle301 viewsArtist Augustus Saint-Gaudens models a portrait of a woman, Mrs. Cleveland, in the Old Stone Studio in Marion, 1887. Mr. Saint-Gaudens designed the “Double Eagle” gold coin in 1907. The coin was highly sought-after, and a reproduction of the coin has been added to the Sippican Historical Society Museum. MAC Show301 viewsA two-person show will be opening at the Marion Art Center on February 28 with a reception to meet the artists from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The first exhibit, entitled “Beauty in the Boatyard – Ten Years at Burr Brothers” is by artist Terry Coleman, and the second exhibit entitled “Landscapes and Figures, Real and Imaginary” is by artist Molly Watson Hawley. Both artists have ties to New England and Marion.

Harbor Days Craze301 viewsThe town gazebo was the scene of another sultry Harbor Days this past weekend. Rows of vendors peddled their fun wares while visitors of all ages enjoyed music, conversation and the best strawberry shortcake in the world.
