Students Sowing Seeds773 viewsSecond graders at Rochester Memorial School received a grant of 200 bulbs from the North American Flowerbulb Wholesales Association, and small groups of students set the 178 bulbs around the school’s sign and on either side of the front door earlier this week. Church Donates Books773 viewsThe steering committee of the Mattapoisett Congregational Church recently made a donation of books to first graders of the Hayden-McFadden Elementary School in New Bedford. The members of the church sought to give the gift of a book to each child in a single class at the north-side New Bedford school in an effort to promote the school’s literacy program.

Youth Baseball Championships773 viewsMarion and Mattapoisett's 2007 Youth Baseball Major League Divisional Championship Series took place between two Mattapoisett teams: the Indians (blue uniforms) and the White Sox (black uniforms), both pictured here. The White Sox went on to win the championship in a hard-fought battle, winning two games to one.
