Mattapoisett Cub Scout Pack 53317 viewsAlthough Mattapoisett Cub Scout Pack 53 had to postpone their Pinewood Derby, Scouts still completed work on their Pinewood Derby Racers. Scouts met virtually during our April Pack Meeting to show off their cars and stay connected. Cars included:

Car Show Dreams316 views108 cars attended the A Wish Come True car show on October 11, 2009 at Rochesters Plumb Corner. Each vehicle owner paid to attend the show, and the proceeds went to the organization, which works to grant wishes to children ages 3-18 who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening condition.

Santa Arrives316 viewsMattapoisett held its annual holiday celebration and tree lighting on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Shipyard Park. The rain couldn't dampen holiday spirits as visitors enjoyed delicious food and listened to Christmas music performed by the Showstoppers. Children made their own ornaments and hung them on the Christmas tree. They also danced with Rudolph and Frosty and shared their Christmas wishes with Santa Claus. Photo by Felix Perez.

Memorial Day316 viewsThe Florence Eastman Post 220 in Mattapoisett hosted the towns Memorial Day observance and parade on May 31, 2010. The ceremony began with a service at the Veterans monument in front of the library, and then a parade assembled and marched to the town wharf and to Cushing Cemetery.
