Triathlon357 viewsOn Sunday, July 8, the Mattapoisett Lions Club held their Annual Triathlon at the Mattapoisett Beach. 172 individual riders and 23 relay teams participated in the event, which included a half-mile swim, 10 mile bike ride and 3.1 mile run. Marion Natural History Museum357 viewsOn November 14, the Marion Natural History Museum's after-school group enjoyed learning about what it takes to become a geologist and a paleontologist. We tried out some of the equipment and discussed working conditions. We learned about the three different types of rocks – sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic, and how they form, and inspected various rocks and minerals and fossils presenter Jim Pierson has collected over the years.

Each week the lifeguards conduct training drills throughout the summer season. This particular drill was done with the Marion Harbormaster's Department and the Marion Fire/EMS Department.
