Veterans Day Ceremony in Mattapoiset398 viewsOn November 11 following the Veterans Day Ceremony at Old Hammondtown School in Mattapoisett, members of Boy Scout Troop 53 performed a flag decommissioning ceremony at the Mattapoisett Land Trust’s Dunseith Gardens. Flags had been placed in decommissioning boxes built by Drew Robert for his Eagle project. The flags were then collected from the boxes located at the police department, town hall and public library and prepared for burning and burial.

Jake Amadea, Tyler Blanchette, Jared Boren, Austin DeSousa, Chris Lambert, Isabella Mauradian, and Leandra Stroud-Jackson from Daniel Brush’s class showed OHS students how they built, programmed, and now operate their robots; something each of the OC engineering students is passionate about. The event attracted about 175 guests. Sippican staff, Police Chief John Garcia, V.A.S.E. members, and Superintendent Douglas White lent a hand, while the meal itself was prepared by cafeteria employees Janet Reynolds and Donna Blanchard. Knit OR Crochet Club398 viewsIn May of 2018 during a Bulldog Block in Señora Carreira's Spanish classroom, Lily Govoni, Class of 2019 at Old Rochester Regional High School, expressed her desire to create a knitting club to teach other students how to knit. Lily is a very kind and talented student, and Señora Carreira did not hesitate to say, "Let's do it!" The idea was to have a group of students share patterns and spend time in a calming activity to help reduce the stress that many students experience in high school.

Wearing only socks on his feet, Hall exited his Snipatuit Road home on April 15 and was greeted by PCH Prize Patroller Howie Guja who was holding a giant check for $50,000 with Hall’s name on it, roses, and a bottle of bubbly.
