The ceremony began with a service at the Veteran’s monument in front of the library, and then a parade assembled and marched to the town wharf and to Cushing Cemetery. Harbor Days Craze364 viewsThe town gazebo was the scene of another sultry Harbor Days this past weekend. Rows of vendors peddled their fun wares while visitors of all ages enjoyed music, conversation and the best strawberry shortcake in the world. Helping Hands and Hooves is a non-profit (based in Mattapoisett) that is dedicated to providing therapeutic horseback riding lessons for adults with disabilities. The first officer on scene reported that there was smoke in the building and that all occupants had safely exited. Ironman364 viewsMattapoisett native Shane Wilhelmsen completed the Ironman competition in Mont Tremblant, Canada on Sunday, August 19.
