Triathlon381 viewsThe Triathlon kicked off the first of the many Harbor Days events scheduled over the week and into the weekend. Hosted by the Mattapoisett Lions Club every year, the triathlon takes racers .25 miles from the shore of Town Beach and back, 10 miles bicycling through Mattapoisett, and 5K through the village around Ned’s Point Lighthouse. High Winds and Waves381 viewsOn February 7, rain and high winds hit Southeastern Massachusetts, resulting in thousands of electrical outages. The hardest hit in the Tri-Town area was Rochester with more than 500 Eversource customers reporting wires down and service interruptions from mid-afternoon into the night. Gusts of over 70 miles per hour were reported by the National Weather Service. Rochester’s Highway Department was on the job for approximately 24 hours removing trees. Photo by Bertram Zarins
