Memorial Engine358 viewsDevoted brother and former New Bedford Fire Chief Roger Nadeau poses with an old fire truck that he is converting into a memorial engine to carry fallen firefighters in Massachusetts, and parts of Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Maine. The engine was donated to Mr. Nadeau by the Weymouth fire department after it developed serious pump problems. Mr. Nadeau’s firefighter brother Gerald died from respiratory problems after a 2002 Fall River fire.

The rain couldn't dampen holiday spirits as visitors enjoyed delicious food and listened to Christmas music performed by the Showstoppers. Zumbathon358 viewsThe ORR high school gymnasium was alive with music and movement on Sunday, April 11, 2010, when dancers took to the floor for a good cause. For a $30 contribution, participants could Zumba for three hours, and the proceeds of the Zumbathon went to Compassionate Care for ALS in Falmouth, a non-profit organization that provides equipment and support to families affected by ALS. The Zumbathon was in honor of Jeffrey Lawrence, a 47-year-old man living with ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).
