Pizza with Santa388 viewsThe Marion Police Brotherhood held its annual Pizza with Santa at the Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center on Sunday, December 8. ‘Chief’ Santa and Mrs. Claus entertained the little ones before enjoying a pizza lunch. Marion Natural History Museum388 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's afterschool group enjoyed learning about minerals and fossils with geologist Jim Pierson. The group also compared various artifacts such as relative sizes of Megaladon teeth versus White Shark, and took a look at many examples of fossils such as fish, leaves, and the tiny tracks of a trilobite. Disaster Drill387 viewsFairhaven Fire Department hosted a full-scale exercise to improve emergency response in the region. Mattapoisett, Rochester, Dartmouth, Freetown, Acushnet, and New Bedford all responded to a disaster that simulated an accident between a school bus and an oil truck at Livesey Park in Fairhaven.
