Hosted by the Mattapoisett Lions Club every year, the triathlon takes racers .25 miles from the shore of Town Beach and back, 10 miles bicycling through Mattapoisett, and 5K through the village around Ned’s Point Lighthouse. Mattapoisett Fire Department440 viewsOn Sunday, firefighters completed a 110-floor stair climb in full structural firefighting gear in Portland, Maine in honor of the 343 FDNY firefighters killed on 9/11. The climb was sponsored by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and each climber was assigned a fallen FDNY firefighters accountability tag with their name and picture, which made the climb that much more important to everyone involved.
