Circus Time455 viewsThe Cole Brothers Circus made its annual visit to Rochester's Plumb Corner on Wednesday, June 24 and Thursday, June 25. The Circus, which featured highflying aerial acts, animal acts and plenty of clowns played four shows under the big top during its two-day stay. The Wanderer455 viewsA “treasure trove” of photos depicting the Wanderer, the final ship to be built in Mattapoisett’s Shipyard Park, was purchased by Brad and Priscilla Hathaway, who donated the photos to the Mattapoisett Historical Society in September, 2009.

Gold Medal455 viewsThe Old Hammondtown School orchestra pulled off its fifth straight gold medal at the Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association competition. As a prize, the orchestra got to play at the Boston Symphony Hall on April 27. This was a bittersweet moment for the orchestra, as it will be the last year that they will enjoy the guidance of their music teachers, Stan Ellis and Jean West, who are both retiring this year. Trebuchet Time455 viewsSenior Carl Dias and freshman Callum McLaughlin from Old Rochester Regional High School’s engineering class constructed this large working trebuchet with guidance from their teacher Tom Norris.
