Tour de Crème372 viewsThis year’s 4th annual Tour de Crème raised $12,000 for outdoor recreation in Mattapoisett! There were 350 riders consuming over 1,200 scoops of ice cream all for a good cause. Octopurr Fest372 viewsIt’s All About the Animals held its 5th annual Octopurr Fest on October 6. The fundraiser featured food, games, music, and craft booths. Owner and operator of the no-kill shelter, Pam Robinson, said 100 percent of all proceeds would go directly to the care of the felines. Socks of Love 372 viewsMattapoisett Congregational Church thanks the community for its generosity and help in preparing Socks of Love for the homeless on Sunday, February 9. The church and community joined forces to deliver 60 pairs of socks to adults and 24 pairs to children in New Bedford. Each package included toiletries and a handwritten Valentine card. Mattapoisett Fire Department 372 viewsOn March 6 at approximately 10:09 am, the Mattapoisett Fire Department was dispatched to 141 Fairhaven Road for a reported structure fire. Fire Chief Andrew Murray arrived on scene at 10:11 am and reported heavy fire and smoke showing from the rear of the structure. At the time, a first-alarm assignment was requested to the scene, bringing in engines from Marion and Fairhaven Fire. Rochester Fire responded to Mattapoisett fire station for station coverage.
