Top Cheer402 viewsOn Saturday, November 14, 2009, the Junior PeeWee Cheerleaders aged 9-11 from Old Rochester Youth Football (ORYF) competed in the New England Cheer and Dance Competition in Boston. The girls, coached by Patti McArdle and Cheryl Sweeney, won first place in their group and were also awarded the Grand Champion Trophy for the youth division. The cheerleaders are all from Mattapoisett, Marion or Rochester.

Santa Arrives402 viewsMattapoisett held its annual holiday celebration and tree lighting on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Shipyard Park. The rain couldn't dampen holiday spirits as visitors enjoyed delicious food and listened to Christmas music performed by the Showstoppers. Christmas Holiday Shop402 viewsSt. Anthony’s and St. Rita’s parishioners combined efforts to give the community a Christmas Holiday Shop and Celebration on Saturday, December 5, 2009. The basement of St. Anthony’s church was decked out in snowflakes, wreaths, bells, bows, and a Santa sleigh. Santa listened patiently as children told him what they wanted for Christmas.
