Before the crafting began, more than 20 children learned that these creations were originally fabricated in Barbados by English women living there. The “Valentines” were sold as tourist items. Celebrating the 4th362 viewsMarion's annual fireworks display attracted several thousand people to the town's Silvershell Beach Park on Friday evening July, 3. The Marion town band entertained the crowd until dusk when the night's big show lit up the sky's above Sippican Harbor. Top Cheer362 viewsOn Saturday, November 14, 2009, the Junior PeeWee Cheerleaders aged 9-11 from Old Rochester Youth Football (ORYF) competed in the New England Cheer and Dance Competition in Boston. The girls, coached by Patti McArdle and Cheryl Sweeney, won first place in their group and were also awarded the Grand Champion Trophy for the youth division. The cheerleaders are all from Mattapoisett, Marion or Rochester.
