Celebrating the 4th445 viewsMarion's annual fireworks display attracted several thousand people to the town's Silvershell Beach Park on Friday evening July, 3. The Marion town band entertained the crowd until dusk when the night's big show lit up the sky's above Sippican Harbor. Cushing Post 2425 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Wheeler, formerly of Marion and grandson of Mattapoisett resident Lee Eaton, was award the Henry Mancini Fellowship at the Ascap Foundation Awards Ceremony. The ceremony took place at the Home of Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York on December 9, 2009. Mr. Wheeler is a 2004 graduate of Old Rochester Regional, and received a Bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, in Studio Composition from SUNY/Purchase in 2008.
