Mom's Marathon '07463 viewsAn estimated 400 runners and walkers came out to the Oxford Creamery in Mattapoisett on Sunday, May 13 to participate in the first annual Tiara Classic Mother’s Day 5K Road Race. The race was held to benefit the Women’s Fund of Southeastern Massachusetts. Many of the runners donned tiaras and capes, making this event one of the more colorful local road races. Top Lions463 viewsOn Saturday, June 20th, the Mattapoisett Lions Club held its Installation of Officers for 2009-2010 at the Wamsutta Club in New Bedford. They were most fortunate to have New Bedford Lion, John Hoyle, a Past International Director of Lions Clubs International, serve as Installing Officer.
Lion Hoyle began by briefly instructing the incoming Board of Directors, Mattapoistt Lions Paul Levine, Clay King, Pierre Bernier and Jeff Swift in the importance of their duties.
