The June 1 commencement featured remarks from Superintendent of Schools Mike Nelson and Principal Mike Devoll and music from the school band. While ORR’s 153-member class was delirious upon the completion of the ceremony, the day’s loudest roar was reserved for the announcement of the diploma for the late Emma Whittaker. Photos by Mick

Marion Natural History Museum15 viewsOn May 24, the Marion Natural History Museum and Sippican Lands Trust teamed up to learn about the latest developments in the protection of Right Whales. Dr. Michael Moore, Right Whale biologist with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, gave us the most recent data collected about this species. Marion Natural History Museum15 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank Officer David Wilson for the trip to view Bird Island to watch some of the unique birds that need the island for nesting. We saw plenty of terns catching fish and an Osprey hover and dive close to Ram Island. Officer Wilson also spent the time to show our kids how to tie up the boat we used and then helped us explore every inch of the patrol boat.
