Marion Natural History Museum112 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum hosted Valentina Lagomarsino, PhD student in the Biological Biomedical Sciences program at Harvard University. Lagomarsino shared her research exploring the similarities between the nervous system of the human brain and the mycorrhizal network of connections between trees. She discussed Susan Simard's work between birch and fir trees, and the connections and sharing of nutrients that was discovered when one tree was placed in shade and a neighboring tree fed Carbon 14.

On display was a jellyfish from gift ribbons, spice and herb shaker tops organized like a universe of the imagination, a bust of a female figure with braids created from plastic bags and tie-wraps, a deconstructed cookbook cut in strips and woven together in new text layouts and fabric swatches reorganized and reimagined as unintentional visual glories.
