MBTA Commuter Rail94 viewsThe initial group of brand-new MBTA Commuter Rail cars destined for Rochester were in West Wareham on June 16, nearing the end of a long journey that took the cars from South Korea where they were constructed to Baltimore, Maryland, where they were put on rails and eventually brought to Massachusetts and welcomed by a crew of MBTA personnel. Arts in the Park94 viewsThe Marion Art Center’s annual “Arts in the Park” event was greeted by a gorgeous weekend, as cars lined Marion’s streets and visitors strolled through Bicentennial Park, ducking into the shade of white tents to visit the many artisans and their goods. Marion Natural History Museum94 viewsOn October 12, the Marion Natural History Museum hosted Chris Reddy, senior scientist at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, who specializes in marine pollution and petroleum geochemistry. Reddy became interested in plastics in 2008 when he worked with Dr. Kara Lavender Law at Sea Education Association to study the distribution and chemical composition of plastic in the North Atlantic Ocean.
