Kayak Clinic22 viewsAugust 9 and 10, the Mattapoisett Land Trust in partnership with the Mattapoisett Recreation Department held two kayak clinics for children ages 8 to 12. MLT volunteers provided safety instructions, a major focus of the program. Kayak introductory instruction has been provided by the two organizations for six years. This year local photographer and author Donna Lee Tufts greeted the children at the end of the program, sharing her thoughts of the joy of kayaking and presenting each child with a copy of her b

Marion Natural History Museum22 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's Coastal Exploration group had a wonderful time last week exploring Marion's shoreline, inland wetlands and woodland areas. We collected examples of plankton, caught fish and frogs in our nets, investigated tide pools and took trips to Bird and Ram Island.
