Marion Natural History Museum20 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum would like to thank Andrew Griffith and his wife Lauren of the Massachusetts Butterfly Club for leading our May 10 walk. The museum's community group members had learned about our local butterflies and identified some of the host plants they rely on. Marion Natural History Museum20 viewsDespite having to reschedule the trip due to poor weather, October 3 was a perfect day to explore. We learned a little about the history of the structures that were built and destroyed during different winter storms and the Hurricane of 1938 which wiped out everything but the lighthouse. We heard that the lighthouse was built in 1819, and the original lighthouse keeper was William S. Moore.
