Crocodile River Music130 viewsOn Saturday, May 17, as part of Art Week, the Marion Arts Center presented Crocodile River Music performing West African music and dance in Marion's Music Hall to an audience of about 70 people. The wind was too strong to land on Bird Island, but we had a chance to view the activity on the island from the water and watch the terns catch some fish. Mattapoisett Public Library129 viewsOn March 19, the Mattapoisett Public Library hosted another chapter in their sustainability programing with a taste testing of plant-based alternatives to cow's milk. "Milk" from oatmeal, almonds, coconuts, rice, flax seed, soy and even hemp were sipped and evaluated on several criteria including taste. The consensus was mixed with some milks tasting too strongly of their base ingredient such as almonds, too sweet and even too salty, while others passed the test.
