Community Picnic16 viewsThe Mattapoisett Land Trust held its annual community picnic on August 3 at the Munro Preserve, complete with oyster service. Taking first place for best centerpiece was Table 29 with its Barbie theme. The Whale, at Table 1, was runner-up, and the Bird table (27) was third. Marion Natural History Museum16 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank Andrew Griffith of the Massachusetts Butterfly Association and his wife Lauren for a terrific walk on Saturday. Despite the sweltering temperatures, we managed to see the following: 2 Monarchs, Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, Spicebush Swallowtail, 7 Sachems, a Zabulon Skipper, a Viceroy, 3 Clouded Sulphurs, Orange Sulphur, Pearl Crescent and Cabbage White butterflies. We had a wonderful time hearing about their favorite food sources and the host plants they cann
