Mattapoisett Public Library58 viewsOn March 19, the Mattapoisett Public Library hosted another chapter in their sustainability programing with a taste testing of plant-based alternatives to cow's milk. "Milk" from oatmeal, almonds, coconuts, rice, flax seed, soy and even hemp were sipped and evaluated on several criteria including taste. The consensus was mixed with some milks tasting too strongly of their base ingredient such as almonds, too sweet and even too salty, while others passed the test.

Marion Natural History Museum 58 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank Justin Barrett for his presentation on some of our more selective bird species. Whether it's our climate, our coastal areas, the selection of cuisine or availability of safe habitat, Marion is a destination for many unique birds. Justin went over a description of 10 of our more interesting and rare species on March 30, ahead of the spring migration. Please check out our upcoming programs at the museum's website: www.marionmuseum.org. Photo courtesy of Elizab
