Children learned how to load a musket, Boy Scouts Troop 31 demonstrated archery skills, visitors enjoyed live music and baked goods and those who ducked inside the 1857 East Rochester Church were treated to an amazing display of artifacts. The dolls on display spanned from the 1800s to the 1960s, looking out at the audience as McIntyre explained the composition of dolls through the ages. Bright blue skies graced the heavens while here on earth, children cavorted across Shipyard Park with seasonal tunes playing in the background like “Purple People Eater”.

Salty Soirée27 viewsSince 2007, the Mattapoisett Land Trust has invited the community to a soirée at the site of Salty the Seahorse. The Halloween themed party on October 19 featured musical performances by Jeff and Lisa Dunn, storytelling by the campfire with Karen Chace, and make-your-own s’mores. Old Rochester Youth Baseball League26 viewsThe first Opening Day since 2019 brought out Old Rochester Youth Baseball League players and their families on Saturday morning in Rochester. A parade began at the Dexter Lane baseball complex and made its way to Gifford Park, where ORYB’s David Arancio recognized the many years of service from Derek Mello, Peter Vieira and David Nelson, who all threw ceremonial first pitches.
