Ned’s Point Lighthouse147 viewsTuesday afternoon offered a sneak preview of the reopening of Ned’s Point Lighthouse scheduled for Saturday, October 9, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Cathy Hardy and Mike Lally, a Texas couple, happened to be in the right place at the right time to become the first visitors to the 183-year-old lighthouse that had been closed for the past two years and three months. The lighthouse typically draws 100 visitors from all over the world when open during any regular, three-hour session. Photo by Mick Colageo

Spot147 viewsKevin Garell from Boston Dynamics brought a robot named "Spot" for a lively demonstration at Rochester Memorial School. With assistance from his son Gavin, Mr. Garell showed off some of Spot's "training" and capabilities. The demonstration was the culmination of a series of projects during which Grade 6 students took on a challenge from NASA to design robotic devices with specific functions.
