Great Picnic60 viewsAttendees at Friday night’s “Great Picnic” on the one-acre Munro preserve overlooking Mattapoisett Harbor enjoyed live music and adorned their tables with creatively competitive centerpieces featuring everything from a palm tree to pickleballs. Mattapoisett Land Trust Vice President Peter Davies told the Wanderer that the Mattapoisett Museum and the MLT have jointly organized the event for five nonconsecutive years. The harbor area has long been home to live music, and the Mattapoisett Town Band is comprised of more than 30 musicians from diverse backgrounds covering a wide spectrum of ages from students to senior citizens. According to Mattapoisett Museum Director Jeff Miller, the band goes back to the early 20th century in some form. August 18, 2022 edition
