Marion Natural History Museum35 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank Maggie Payne for her fun and informative program on the Monarch butterfly. We learned about their life cycle, the plants these animals must have to reproduce and the plants they need to be able to survive their extremely long migration routes. We watched a video Maggie had taken of a monarch butterfly emerging from its chrysalis and expanding its wings to fly.

Mattapoisett Public Library35 viewsOn March 19, the Mattapoisett Public Library hosted another chapter in their sustainability programing with a taste testing of plant-based alternatives to cow's milk. "Milk" from oatmeal, almonds, coconuts, rice, flax seed, soy and even hemp were sipped and evaluated on several criteria including taste. The consensus was mixed with some milks tasting too strongly of their base ingredient such as almonds, too sweet and even too salty, while others passed the test.
