Marion Natural History Museum138 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank Officer David Wilson for the trip to view Bird Island to watch some of the unique birds that need the island for nesting. We saw plenty of terns catching fish and an Osprey hover and dive close to Ram Island. Officer Wilson also spent the time to show our kids how to tie up the boat we used and then helped us explore every inch of the patrol boat. Marion Natural History Museum 138 viewsLast week, the Marion Natural History Museum welcomed Bethany Jakubson of Amazing Animal Ambassadors. Bethany brought in some of her most adorable mammals, including a Fennec Fox (native to Africa), a Tenrec (native to Madagascar), a Hedgehog named Peter Quill, a Chinchilla and a skunk. ORR Class of 2021137 viewsSaturday’s commencement exercises at Old Rochester Regional High School saw 188 members of the Class of 2021 graduate, and they and their families heard speeches from Valedictorian Katelyn Luong and Class President Bess Pierre, along with words from keynote members of the district and school administration. Paca Run137 viewsSeptember 25 found animal lovers of all ages visiting alpaca farms throughout the region in a game called “Paca Run.” Mattapoisett’s Pine Meadows Farm participated in the event, which included five farms where folks could pick up playing cards. At the end of the two-day event coinciding with National Alpaca Farm Days, the best “Hand” won prizes.
