Llama Visit139 viewsLauren and Jeff Paine from Pine Meadow Farm in Mattapoisett brought Chocolate and Patience to visit the children at the Loft School on October 20. The Pre-K class has been learning about Peru this month. The children had a chance to ask questions, see what Alpacas eat, feel their shorn fur and pet their new friends. Halloween Parade139 viewsThe streets of Marion were flooded with Halloween Parade participants and attendees, as members of the Sippican Elementary School Band helped the “witches” of the Marion Art Center lead a procession that began at the Music Hall and went down Front Street, up Main Street past the Elizabeth Taber statue and onto Spring Street, where children were met at Town House by staff members handing out candy for the kids. The event included musical entertainment by Tri-County musicians, Grades 4 and 5 bands from Sippican Elementary School, Sippican Historical Society carolers and Tabor Academy students, horse-drawn carriage rides, street entertainment, seasonal refreshments courtesy of area merchants, goodie bags from VASE, and crafts for kids. Christmas Day Plunge139 viewsAt 94, Bob Humphrey was the elder statesman participating in the Christmas Day plunge held at Mattapoisett Town Beach, which including 47 swimmers and raised $2,595 in donations for the benefit of Helping Hands & Hooves.
