After Class Enrichment 38 viewsPerforming arts and drama courses were offered as part of this year's After Class Enrichment (A.C.E.) sessions at Sippican Elementary School. Students combined painted glass and sand art, assisted by Tabor After School Community Service Volunteers, created clay handles for their vases as part of a collaborative project with the Marion Historical Society, participated in 3D printing, and worked on "Once Upon a Time" STEAM activities.

Volunteers at Sippican Elementary38 viewsVolunteers at Sippican Elementary (VASE) hosted their fourth Boosterthon Fun Run fundraiser last week. VASE works with Booster, a company that helps raise funds for enrichment activities such as in-school performances, field trips and afterschool programs. Students reached out to friends, family and businesses across 30 states and 7 countries; 87 percent of the student body registered with 79 percent earning donations for Sippican.

Old Rochester Regional High School Junior Class38 viewsRather than attending a brunch or family breakfast, several mothers (and some disgruntled teens) supported the Old Rochester Regional High School Junior Class through a calm and sweaty yoga class. Led by Elke Pierre, the class boasted a full house and was influenced by the theme of motherhood. Ms. Pierre not only hosted, but taught, deejayed and planned the yoga as a huge donation of time and effort to her son Markus Pierre’s class. A

MBTA Commuter Rail38 viewsThe initial group of brand-new MBTA Commuter Rail cars destined for Rochester were in West Wareham on June 16, nearing the end of a long journey that took the cars from South Korea where they were constructed to Baltimore, Maryland, where they were put on rails and eventually brought to Massachusetts and welcomed by a crew of MBTA personnel. First Congregational Church of Marion 38 viewsThe First Congregational Church of Marion welcomed a group of enthusiastic and energetic children from Kindergarten to sixth grade to the church's Vacation Bible School held August 15-19. The children enjoyed a full, exciting week of creative projects, interactive Bible stories and lots of recreational games.
