Marion Village Stroll57 viewsCars lined several Marion streets as residents gathered for the town’s Christmas Stroll on December 12. Front Street and connecting village roads were partially closed for the event, as families enjoyed refreshments provided by area merchants at their doorsteps and along the roads. Clydesdale horses escorted Santa Claus and passengers, while the Sippican Elementary School Band played, Tabor Academy student singer Wesley Lai of Hong Kong sang, and a bike rider juggled bowling pins. Ned’s Point Birthday57 viewsThis past Saturday, Ev had her eighth birthday party at Ned’s Point lighthouse. The day was filled with kite flying and drinking tea with the added bonus of lighthouse tours. Joe Dawiki with the Coast Guard Auxiliary helped us arrange a tour. The kids had a blast and so did the parents. Ned’s Point Light needs restoration. I recommend your next party to be held there to shine light on the need and spread awareness. Justin Barrett, Nasketucket Bird Club president and museum board member, went over how best to use apps from Audubon, Cornell, Sibley and many others. We also learned how to record a bird or birds and have each one identified by call simultaneously.
