COA Art Exhibit62 viewsThe newest art exhibit at the Marion Council on Aging is both a sublime and exciting partnership between local schools and the COA. Works have been created by students from Sippican Elementary and Old Rochester Regional Junior and Senior high schools. Art instructors Joanne Mogilnicki from the high school and Katie Kirk from the elementary school have inspired their students in fine art and craft techniques. Marion Natural History Museum61 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's afterschool group had a wonderful time setting off their rockets on June 9. Despite the blistering hot weather, the rockets were all successfully launched, and the parachutes deployed (most of the time). The students had built their rockets at home before the program with a YouTube video created by the program's presenter, Mike Cronin.

Marion 4th of July Parade61 viewsMarion Town Administrator Jay McGrail and Select Board members Norm Hills, John Waterman, and Randy Parker walked the Independence Day parade route on Monday morning along with veterans, marching bands, Boy and Girl Scout troops, youth baseball teams, decorated floats, fire engines, and a convoy of antique cars. Beginning at the Town House, the parade route went up Spring Street, then east on Route 6 before going right onto Front Street all the way down to Main Street and back up to Spring. Photos by Ryan F
