Ski Jumps163 viewsTabor Academy sophomores Andrei Sarbu (yellow pants) and Joe Barry and friends enjoyed their Sunday afternoon, turning the little sledding slope on Spring Street at Tabor Academy’s soccer field into a ski jump. Tri-Town firefighters163 viewsThe holidays were challenging for Tri-Town firefighters. Marion and Rochester fire departments were among towns assisting Wareham after a mulch pile in a remote location off County Road caught fire on Christmas Eve. Firefighters worked in cold temperatures for eight hours, dispensing approximately 200,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. Tornado in Mattapoisett163 viewsAn EF-1 tornado touched down late Tuesday morning in Mattapoisett. The unusual weather event downed power lines and hundreds of trees, knocking out power to many homes north of Route 195. Television news crews descended from Boston, as the Mattapoisett Fire and Police departments worked with utility companies and many power lines to clean up roads and assist area residents coming home to frightening scenes.
