Representing Grades K-2, 3-4, 8 and 10, the students participated in five days of concentrated study in early literacy and math. The week’s effort added up to a month’s worth of classwork. Andrew Daniel, Rochester facilities manager who was instrumental in bringing the petition to Nelson’s attention, and Dexter’s sister Debbie Townsend both shared words with the packed house that turned out in Dexter’s honor.
