Sippican Elementary School128 viewsSippican Elementary School students have been planting seeds under the guidance of Nate Sander of the Marion Institute. As of May 4, there is a long way to go to harvest, but the program meant to educate children and help instill nutritional awareness and farming skills includes crops such as radishes capable of the full cycle to harvest before the last day of school. In the meantime, this heavily trampled area near the bus drop-off will need tender, loving care. Photo by Mick Colageo - May 16, 2024 edition

Arts in the Park127 viewsSeveral hundred people came out to enjoy the annual Arts in the Park fundraiser hosted by the Marion Art Center on July 10. Forty artists who had been invited by a MAC jury to participate featured their crafts and art objects. The jury ensures the quality of the items on display and also gives up-and-coming artisans a platform to showcase their work. Strolling along the paths, people found pottery, wearable art, custom crafted furniture, and a wide variety of jewelry. Photos by Marilou Newell
