The event was held for the benefit of Helping Hands and Hooves, a program run by Julie Craig and Debbie Dyson that offers experiences, especially horseback riding, to people with cognitive challenges who have aged out of the many children's programs. Delighting the children were two Nigerian goats owned by Emerald Heirloom Farm, Mattapoisett. The goats are part of a planned experiment by farmers Ruby Pasquill and Jonathan MacDugall, who are using sustainable farming practices. Marion 4th of July Parade204 viewsMarion Town Administrator Jay McGrail and Select Board members Norm Hills, John Waterman, and Randy Parker walked the Independence Day parade route on Monday morning along with veterans, marching bands, Boy and Girl Scout troops, youth baseball teams, decorated floats, fire engines, and a convoy of antique cars.
