Mattapoisett Library145 viewsOn August 7, the Mattapoisett Library hosted the New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance. Interns from the Wareham-based agency gave a hands-on talk to small children on local sea turtles. NECWA studies local marine life, collecting data for a variety of agencies. ORR Field Hockey145 viewsEach year, the Old Rochester Regional High School field hockey team members engage in a community service project. This year, on September 15, they went to "Sharing the Harvest Community Farm" at the YMCA of Dartmouth. The team worked hard in planting and preparing the fields for the next set of crops. Christmas Day Plunge145 viewsAt 94, Bob Humphrey was the elder statesman participating in the Christmas Day plunge held at Mattapoisett Town Beach, which including 47 swimmers and raised $2,595 in donations for the benefit of Helping Hands & Hooves. Cruz with a Commonwealth of Massachusetts Certificate of Recognition as a "Hero in our Community" and given three books to add to his donation to the Tri-Town Against Racism Diversity Library for local schools. Robertson, The Wanderer's Keel Award winner in Rochester for 2020.
